We're using the ProNav extension for almost six months now on our 1.5.1 shop and it works like charm on all current browsers.
We've dropped in some css to make it fit to our current design (check "Wunschliste" to compare). See it in action on our page: http://j.mp/yh0uou - beautiful, isn't it?

I bought this extension roughly 3 weeks back.
The extension bugged out from the first day itself with some installation issues.
Even after repeated requests, there hasn't been any support from them.
The extension looks great but too bad I can't say that about their customer support.

You can't output a CMS page as a drop down if this is what you are asking. But there isn't much you can't do in a static block that you couldn't in the CMS anyway. What are you trying to achieve exactly and maybe we can answer your question in more detail.

Yes, it does replace the standard Magento navigation. You can however use the ProNav widgets to add in navigation to the catalogue. I hope this make sense, but please feel free to ask any more questions.

Hi homdesign,
The css link id and class attributes of a ProNav item simply allow you to add either or both to the list-item or the link contained within the list-item. You can then target these via your css file.

A very flexible extension - quite easy to customize with CSS to get it looking the way we wanted. This extension is a must, both seen from the aesthetics and the architecture / flexibility point of view.
During installation on our module loaded installation there have been a couple of issues do with html compression and cross module problems of the JQuery methods. The Brandammo team however come back swiftly to resolve those.

Hey,
just bought the extension and cannot run it. In the admin section the Status in on "Enabled" and I have configured at least one Item with a static block on all storeviews.
It seems that this code:
if ($this->getNavConfig('pronav_status'))
{
is doing the problems.
Because in our source code view in our browser this appears:
<div style="clear:both;"></div></ul>
It means that the IF statement isn't working... so the config doesn't work.
Can you help me pelase?

Pronav does not declare var jQ = jQuery.noConflict(); anymore. The guide needs updating. Sorry about the confusion.
Any extension using jQuery can conflict with another in Magento. To solve this you just need to make sure jQuery is included only once and that jQuery.noConflict() is called once as well.
We usually solve this free of charge. Feel free to contact us via email.
It is another matter if two extensions write to the same block. In this case it would not be possible to run them both.

This extension is simple AND efficient at the same time ... very intuitive ... it's a no brainer to install and configure. Although everything has been made to fit most websites, we encountered an issue with our own template. Extension der Extra Klasse mit ungeahnten Möglichkeiten der Menü Gestaltung.
Html und CSS Kenntnisse sollten vorhanden sein dann steht der optischen Gestaltung nichts mehr im Wege.
Grandios und einfach ist auch die Einbindung von Kategorien oder Produkten mit oder ohne Bildern in Statische Blöcke sowie in CMS Seiten über Widgets.
Der Support ist ebenfalls ausgezeichnet, durch sehr gute Start Hilfe von Carlo war die Einarbeitung absolut problemlos.
Ich kann jedem das Produkt nur empfehlen.
Wir setzen die Extension in Magento 1.6.0.0 ein.

I have a big problem!
I installed ProNav and everything seemed ok. But there was a small error on my side (divided by 0) and then I deleted jquery. That was not the solution, and I've uploaded jquery again. And now Pronav no longer works, nothing happens. In the frontend, it seems as if it were not installed. But it is, I can see it in the backend and can activate and deactivate it. All CMS-Blocks are ok and the settings on CMS - ProNav also.
Any solution? Many thanks!

The jagged text in IE can be fixed by assigning a background color to the text in the menu.
You can google 'ie jagged text fix' and you will find plenty of information on how to fix this.
Unfortunately, due to the many possible ways to style a menu, we could not include this fix by default.

We are very proud of our support and as you can see from the comments below we seem to be doing a good job for our clients. I would say however, that you may want to purchase the installation with this extension. It is easy to install, but if you are new to Magento you many prefer the peace of mind that everything has been installed correctly.

Great Extension. Very flexible. You can add any HTML in your static block. We are in process of redesigning the entire menu, adding graphics to it as well as some CSSs.
I have had a few problems at the beginning, but Brandammo team was very helpful. Especial thank you to Tom Greaves, who answered each of my questions in details. He always responds within 12 hours which is great considering time-zones difference. In short, I can recommend this extension and can rely on this company.

wonderful Extension... worked like a charm. One of the amazing attention to details was the ability to adjust all the timing and fade for the drop downs easily and quickly in the backend, really nice for tweaking and getting the perfect mouse over delay and clean transitions from one tab to another

Launched our first Magento store about a month ago with a number of add-on features that we knew we wanted to implement after launch. One of them was what I like to call the Big A$$ menu. A way to feature a LOT of content and usability features in the navigation area without sacrificing on-page real estate. ProNav does exactly that! Plus, it does it with the elegance that you expect from a top-quality Magento extension.
I ran into some issues with the jQuery usage that was solved by the BrandAmmo support team. I simply had to comment out one line of code from their js file. I'm glad they use jQuery...do you really want it built with script.aculo.us when so many goodies use jQuery?
This extension now opens up the possibility for me to do so many things with my navigation that I couldn't be happier.

I have bought this extension twice, for different customers. What I like about it is you can do many different things with it. Since the menu is setup using the static blocks you have great flexibility in how it it presented. Of course as your menu gets more complex - more work is involved to set it up manually.
We did have an issue with our first installation but with support we were able to get it straighten out.

The extension contains the jQuery no conflict function and works fine with magento, I had no trouble setting it up on my local host. Set up took minutes and the flexibility of the dropdown menu is perfect. Other solutions only allow dynamic menus created from your category lists which does not allow you to put colour / size / filters etc into your menu.
I definitely would not say that it's worthless. I also got quick responses to all questions I asked

A nice extension - you need to be aware that the navigation is manually set up from static blocks, so will need to set up a category list widget (or the like) on bigger stores or else you will have a lot of html links to create...
that aside, it offers great flexibility - if you can put in in a cms block, it can go into the nav - so images, text, video, forms, lists and more..
over all a great extension and one that we will be using again..

I bought the ProNav extension for sometime now, and it's flexibility is just like it's claimed. I've combined the extension with a Category List Widget, and got all categories dinamically in the Menu. Very easy to setup and highly customizable (you can, for example, have each menu with it's own style or colors). In my case I even have banners inside the menu - contextual publicity!
As for the price, it is very well suited for the general quality of the extension, and I have bought a lot of extensions to tell you that. I do think the extension should be better in supporting multi-stores. The main defect is related to license, but I am sure Brandammo team will get this right soon enough.

ProNav is all you'll ever need to create a professional and fast usable navigation system in Magento. I am over the moon with mine and can't recommend it enough. If you're looking for a great Navigation system then this is it. The customer service is second to none too ! Carl :o)

For any Magento website, a mega menu like ProNav is a must for usability. The standard dropdown menus that often come with Magento are far too tricky for visitors to use easily. However, Pronav's ability to display many categories at once in the main top menu is such an improvement and crucial if e-commerce sales are important to you (they are for most people!).
The two support tickets we made were dealt with well by their support team. One was about the menu text in IE8 and IE7 not being smooth, as a result the menu text looked slightly strange - brandammo released a fix for IE8, but they couldn't find a solution for IE7. Also their documentation is missing the simple step in the installation where you need to make Pronav ‘enabled’ in the System > Config" - Magento newcomers may think it's enabled on install, but it's not. I don't think this has yet been added to the documentation as promised. So in summary, in our experience their support is very good, we received prompt and helpful advice, but we would have liked it if they had gone that extra mile to completely resolve our concerns.
On the whole, a must buy extension.

Great extension, gives back control of your menu. We found using the standard magento menu and other automated systems too restrictive.

Extension très pratique.
Simple à mettre en place, et completement personnalisable. Il n'y a plus qu'a être créatif.
Le menu étant LA charnière de navigation, cette extension est parfaite pour augmenter les taux de transfo, gagner en pertinence, et pousser les produits que l'on veut ;)
Le support est également très réactif, ce qui est un plus non négligeable !

We found that ProNav really added to the usability of the site from a visitor perspective, and also opens up some great merchandising opportunities, given the ability to place custom content (images etc.) into the mega menu blocks. Was easy to install, style and manage.
A huge improvement on the standard Magento Nav - 5 out of 5!

This extension is so great that is should be integrated to Magento as a basic functionnality.

It doesn't automatically pull in categories from the back end. But this is gives you much more freedom over where and how each nav item is displayed.
Regarding the Collapsible left menu, this can be done but not from the default configuration. If you are comfortable with CSS and HTML then you will be able to adapt this menu to a more advanced layout such as a left menu.

Does it automatically take the categories from the ones created in the back-end?
Is it possible to create a collapsible Left Menu using this extension? My top level categories have a lot of level 2 sub-categories so I want only a handful to be initially visible and then the rest to be shown on click or mouse-over. Is this possible?

We bought the brandammo pronav extens, but we can't use it due to sourceguardian drivers. Is there a solution maybe to work with ioncube security? Otherwise ma have to ask you our money back....

A fantastic extension. This is a must for all serious eCommerce store owners.
At first when I realised that the categories did not auto-link/connect with this tool, I was disappointed but having played with the extension for a while I realise why it is done using static blocks. It just give you so much more flexability for your menus. Maybe they will have a feature in future versions that links the categories in for you but even without this function, it is an amazing piece of work.
Apart from the fact that this is a great extension, the support from these guys is excellent. You can reach them by phone or email and they are always happy to help with any issues. A great bunch of guys.

This extension is cool (works awesomely with static blocks) but beware, it does not automatically list categories in any way. You must manually code in and link your categories via the use of a static block.

Fantastic module, installed easily and works really well. The documentation was slightly confusing as we weren't sure if we needed the licence file or not (you don't) but other than that really impressed.Rating
The only minor problem is that you can't control the order the various attributes appear in, so if you add a few different ones the grid view can appear a little unorganised. If the option was available to order the attributes it'd be easily one of the best and most simple modules we've ever used.
All in all a great module and we'll most likely be installing this on every new site from now on. (Posted on 16/11/2011)
